Why The Garage?

A garage is a place of refuge.

It’s the place where you’ve stored all of your old photos, records, and tools that you don’t have room for in the house.

It’s the one place you can get away from the stresses of life and get to work on that old bike, listen to those albums you’ve got tucked away in the corner and maybe even have a go at playing your guitar that’s been gathering dust for years.

Back in the ‘80s, your garage was the place you could hang out with your mates before heading to that gig in town.

Here at The Garage, we want to let you reminisce on your golden years when the music was great and you didn’t have to worry about paying the bills.

We want to be the station that’s playing while you’re in the garage kicking back after a long week at work.

We want to make you put your head up and go: “Oh wow, I haven’t heard that in years”.

We’ve gone through all of your old music collections and chosen the absolute best.

All you have to do now is sit down, crack open that cold beer, and flick the radio onto The Garage 96.1.
